You can download Speak in either Google Play or in Ap Store. Because Speak is an app intended to be used on a mobile device, we recommend that you download it on your smart phone, tablet or ipad for best use.
Hit one of the buttons below to go to the download section and read more about the app.
Open up Speak and go to settings (far right icon in the bottom) and then go to support.
The first line below support info indicates what version of Speak you're using.
The dialer looks very much the same as a mobile phones native dialer. when you start typing either a phone number or a contacts name, the dialer will come up with a list of suggestions from your phones contacts.
Remember when dialing a number that is not part of your phones contacts, you must include the country calling code (prefix) for the country your are calling.
When calling a number through a data connection, whether it is wifi or mobile data, your calling screen will look like the picture on the left, where the name and number you are calling is shown on your screen.
When calling a number through a local phone line, your calling screen will switch to the phones native calling screen. And the number shown on your screen will be Speaks local phone number in the country your are calling to. The text will be "Calling Speak".
Don't get disturbed by this and a hang up your call. This is just because we are routing your call through our tele infrastructure in order to get you the best and cheapest local rates. The receiver of your call will still see your name or phone number on his/hers mobile phone.
Under recents, you can see all your recent calls made with the app sorted by newest date. You can see who you called, and when you called the person. You can also flag the person/number as a favorite, or you can tap the name or number inorder to call the person.
This is similar to your phones contact section. Here you have all your contacts from your phone book in alphabetical order.
You can search a specific contact and you can also add contacts to your favorites. You also have the possibility to edit the contacts name and phone number.
This screen will show you, in alphabetical order, which persons you have flagged as favorites. They will also indicate from which country the persons phone number origins.
In the call method section you can choose which type of quality you want on your calls. You can also prioritize how you want to connect the calls.
Remember to read the descriptions and recommendations for each connection type before you begin prioritizing them and deselecting them.
When auto quality is enabled Speak will automatically setup the best possible quality for your calls and you cannot choose between the different connection types yourself.
When the change SIM feature is activated auto quality will automatically be enabled in order to achieve the best possible experience abroad.
In the custom priority section under call method, you enable / disable the various options. You can also prioritize them be dragging the options up or down.
Remember to read the descriptions and recommendations for each connection type before you begin prioritizing them and deselecting them.
In order for Speak to provide you with the best local rates and prices, it is important to know which country you currently are present in.
If you have "location / GPS" activated in your phone, we can automatically detect the country you're in, and thereby set the correct rate and price.
If you haven't activated location and/or GPS, you must select the country you're currently in manually.
Please do so, by selecting the correct country in the list.
The benefit by using the change SIM feature is that you can avoid roaming charges which can be quite expensive in some countries. Additionally with this feature you can even keep your own number in spite of changing to another SIM card with another phone number on.
First thing to do is to forward your number.
After that you have to change to the local SIM card. Just remove your own SIM card form the SIM tray, and replace it with your other local SIM card.
On some phones this process either requires a restart of the phone or that you leave the app. This doesn't interfer with the change SIM procedure. When you come back to the app, you will automatically be taken to the next step.
Speak automatically detects and connects the SIM card. Please remember that in order for this to work, the SIM card must either have a data connection, or you must be on a wifi network.
Next you need to verify the SIM card. If Speak supports the country and has a phone number in that country, the phone number on the SIM and the country of origin of the SIM will be displayed.
if you are located in a country Speak doesn't support, the process will be a bit different. This process will be explained later on in this guide.
You have now activated the change SIM feature and you can start calling without expensive roaming charges and at the best local prices.

It may occur that we support the country, but that we haven't got a phone number in the country in question. If this is the case, you have to make a configuration call, in order to finish activation process.
Speak makes the configuration call for you. Please remember that you still need a wifi or data connection to finish the process.

It may occur that we don't support the country, and that we haven't got a phone number in the country in question. If this is the case, you have to manually enter the local SIM cards phone number, in order to finish activation process.
Please remember that you still need a wifi or data connection to finish the process.

it is very easy to deactivate the change SIM feature. The first thing to do, is to replace the local SIM card in the SIM tray with your original SM card.
After that you have to deactivate call forward which you sat when activating the change SIM feature.
Speak will automatically deactivate the call forward method either by making a configuration call or just by .
You have now deactivated the change SIM feature.
In the dialer you can see that you have deactivated the change SIM feature.
On the settings screen you have various options to change different settings and see more features in the app.
Some of them are explained elsewhere on this page in seperat guides. The others will be explained on the next slides.
Under transactions you have a detailed overview of all calls made in the app. You can see who you called, when you called them and how long the call took. You can also see how much a call costs. Your balance on your account will automatically be updated after each call.
In addition to this, you can also see when and how much money you deposited into your account.
In the profile section you can see your phone number, the email you registered with and your name.
The only option under your profile that is changeable is your name. If you want your email to be changed, you need to contact us directly.
Under the option pricing, you are able to see all our prices for calls made from one country to another.
Just type in the countries and a list of prices will occur.
The prices displayed will be of different types. From local ordinary line rates to mobile and shared cost services.
You can change between prices displayed whether you start the call over a landline or with data. Remember that prices displayed is not including your own local rate, if you have any.
When adding credits you can choose between 3 different packages containing 5, 10 og 20 dollars.
Also in the add credicts section you have the ability to see how many minutes you get to a certain country when choosing one of the 3 credit packages.
When continuing to the checkout section, you can review your order before moving forward.
If you don't have added a credit card yet, you have to add one in order to complete your order..
Just type in your credit card information and you are ready to continue.
We have a third party company that handles all payments which uses the latest in encryption technology and secure payment, so nothing to worry about.
You can now safely return to your order and finsih the payment.
Review your order again, now with an added credit card before confirming your payment.
Now you have succesfully added credits to your account and you can start calling at the lowest prices ever.
Your new balance to your account will also be displayed here.
In the section that holds your credit card information you can always add a new credit card.
You can also disable the auto refill option.
At anytime you can always refund the remaining credits in your account back to your creditcard.

We need your phone number in order for you to start using Speak. This is essential as Speak is a calling app.
Please remember to incluse the country code for your phone numbers origin country.
The next thing we need is your email address.
Among other things this is used to send a receipt when adding credits to your account.
You need to choose a four digit passcode that you easily can remember for the application.
This is for if you logout of the application, you can quickly login and return to Speak.
As a security prequation and a validation for using the correct phone number a SMS text with a verification code is sent to your phone number. You need to enter this code in order to finish your registration.
Now you have succesfully created an account and you can start using Speak and save a lot of money on international calls.
An overview of all the strings you have. In the overview you can see the name of the string, if it is named. Otherwise a phone number or contact name will be shown.
Below the name you can see open tasks and bookmarked messages for the string. You can also see which people are part of the string.
if you have unread messages in a string, an indicator will show how many unread messages you have. Strings with unread messages will always be displayed on top of other strings.
This is how a particiluar string can look like. On top you have different options. You can edit the string - adding people or deleting the string. You can see only open tasks or only bookmarked messages.
The overview is sorted, so that recent messages is displayed from bottom to top and divided into dates. The messages you write will be right aligned. Messages from other people in the string will be left aligned.
When writing a new message you can bookmark the message if it is important. You can also create tasks.
When creating a new string, you need to add people to the string. You can add as many as you want. You can only add people who have the app installed.
If you want to add other people than Speak users, you need to invite them to download and install the application. When inviting a text message will be sent with a download link.
Optionally you can name the new string you are creating.
Here you get an overview of all upcoming conference calls. The first coming conference call will always be on top.
The conference call consits of a title, the date and time of the call and when it is scheduled to begin. Also you will see all the people who attend the conference call and, if added, notes about the conference call.
if you are the owner of the call you will also see the price per minute for each participant and the the total price per minute for the entire conference call. You will also be able to edit or delete the conference.
Under the history tab you can see previously held conferences.
If you are not the owner and creator of the conference call, you will not be able to edit or delete the conference, and you will not see the prices of the call.
Other wise, you will have the same overviiew as the owner of the conference call.
When the conference call begin, Speak will start by calling the owner of the conference call. When he or she answers the call, the other participants of the conference will automatically be called.
In the live preview you will be able to see which participants has answered the call, who are about to receive a call and which has not answered the call.
You can see the duration of the call, and an estimate of the total price. You can also disconnect one or more participants, and dial the ones who hasn't answered the call again. You are also able to end the entire conference call.
When you create a conference call you can set a title of your choice. You invite people by choosing someone from your contacts, or typing in a phone number.
Each of the people you invite will receive either a text message with an invite, or if they have Speak installed, they will get a notification, and the conference call will automatically be created in their application.
You can choose to start the conference call immediately or you can set a date and time. Optionally you can add a note to the the conference call.
